Supporting Masai girls

Tanzania is the land of the famous Masai tribe. The Masai are known for their traditional way of life, language and their beautiful jewelry and clothing. But also female genital mutilation, child marriages and the use of traditional midwives. We see it as our obligation to give support to the masai community. Therefore Shemeji Safari donates 10% of the profit to help Masai women and girls.

With the support of the masai women and girls we support 'our sisters', therefore we have named our company Shemeji which means sister in law.

The choice of accommodation was perfect

We decided to book our holiday independently after seeing how much the tour companies were charging. Not wanting to go to SA for personal reasons, we looked at Kenya and then fell in love with the idea of Tanzania. Shemeji certainly came up with the 'goods' according to our brief and we couldn't fault them. We visited Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, and the Serengheti, each very different and each fabulous in its own right. We saw the Big Five, and the choice of accommodation was perfect as it allowed us to experience lodges and tented lodges, all really great places to stay. The people were very friendly, and the Masai fascinating. Our guide Edward did everything to try to make our visit perfect, and he promised us cheetah, and cheetah we got.....7 of them. we would dearly love to return.

Amazing experience - couldn’t fault it

We, a group of six Irish girls based in Abu Dhabi went on a five day safari with Shemeji this June/July. We contacted the company and Emma, one of the owners began to plan our trip. Emma answered all our questions and queries with a prompt and friendly reply. She tailored a package to suit our group and ensured we had everything planned that we wished to do and see.

Bene was our guide for the safari. He was a complete professional and such a friendly lovely man. He knew the answers to all our ridiculous questions and made sure we got the most out of our safari experience.

All of the accommodation we stayed in was superb, with each place offering a more friendly welcome than the last.

We were incredibly lucky to see the Big Five by day four. Along with this we saw over thirty other animals species. The landscapes and terrains of the four parks we visited were varied and enthralling.I will have no hesitation in recommending Shemeji’s safaris to any and all of my friends.

A fantastic safari!

Thanks to Shemeji we had a fantastic safari. We did the 6-day camping & lodge safari to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Before departure, Shemeji was quick with responding our questions. During the safari our guide Adam told us a lot about the parks and animals. Thanks to him we saw the big five. Isaac cooked delicious meals in the evening and packed us lunch everyday. De accommodations during the safari were very divers and perfect.
