Overview

In the heart of Africa, Tanzania stands majestic, a land of lush nature and unique wildlife. A safari through this country is an unforgettable experience, offering the chance to delve into dreamlike landscapes and observe the continent’s most iconic animals up close. The five settlements that make up the Ikoma Wildlife Management Area (WMA) are located on the western edge of Serengeti National Park, nestled between Serengeti National Park and the Grumeti and Ikorongo Game Reserves. Ikoma spans 242 square kilometers of wildlife conservation area and serves as a haven for animals migrating from Kenya’s Maasai Mara Game Reserve and Serengeti National Park.

Wildlife

The Serengeti National Park is one of the most famous in the world, and for good reason. The Ikoma area is home to large herds of antelopes, including Patterson’s eland, klipspringer, dik-dik, zebras, gazelles, lions, impalas, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and other large mammals such as rhinos, giraffes, elephants, and hippopotamuses, thanks to its proximity to the Serengeti National Park. Furthermore, this area offers a truly unparalleled spectacle: the traces of the Great Migration, a unique phenomenon that brings together millions of animals each year in their relentless search for fresh pastures.
